Understanding the Modes
Pure Tone
A single oscillator frequency is played directly. Very low frequencies may not be audible or reproducible through standard speakers or headphones.
Pulsed Frequency
An audible carrier tone is rhythmically modulated at the selected pulse rate. The pulse value controls the rhythm of the carrier; it is not a direct low-frequency tone from the speakers.
Binaural Beat
Two nearby frequencies are sent separately to the left and right ears. The beat value represents the difference between them. Stereo headphones are required for the intended effect.
Human hearing is commonly described as approximately 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, but hearing range varies with age, individual biology, and hearing health. Ordinary headphones and speakers may not reproduce very low or very high frequencies accurately. A value being selectable does not guarantee that your hardware can reproduce it.
