Plant Lab

Plant Lab library

Materia Medica

A structured plant reference library for WholeRootLabs: identity, plant part, preparation, tradition, evidence, safety, ecology and practical study.

Library rule

One plant. One profile. Many questions.

This is where plant profiles live. Editorial essays stay in Articles; plant references stay here.

Identity first

Every profile starts with the plant name, family, naming cautions and what does not confirm identification.

Preparation matters

Tea, tincture, oil, salve, food and essential oil are not treated as interchangeable versions of the same thing.

Evidence stays visible

Traditional use, lab research, human evidence and uncertainty are kept in separate lanes.

Safety has a seat

Allergy, pregnancy, children, medication, contamination and when not to self-treat stay on the page.

Current profiles

The living shelf.

The collection is intentionally small for now. It will grow plant by plant, without collapsing each plant into a list of promises.

Future versions can add search, plant-family filters, preparation filters, safety flags, Icelandic plants and study cards. The structure starts here.

Structured herbal learning
